With the Insights and KPIs we have a set of metrics where we can measure some key indicators for deliveries. Here we explain a bit more in detail each metric:

Deliveries

The deliveries group of metrics tells you about each order delivered.

  • Completed: absolute number of completed orders (a completed order means an order that have a signature and was delivered at least on the same day it was promised).

  • Containing alcohol: absolute number of orders containing alcoholic goods.

  • Delivery duration: amount of time (on average), that an order takes to be delivered. So from point A to B, B to C and so on…
Note: The delivery duration does not account for eventual waiting time at pick-up location prior to the delivery window "officially" starts and does not include returning to the shop.

  • Delay duration: amount of time (on average), that delays take.

  • Deliveries per hour: amount of orders delivered (on average) per hour.

  • Delays total: absolute numbers of delayed orders.

  • Deviations: absolute number of orders that a deviation happened.

  • Deviations by type: the same as before but separated by each deviation type.

Financials

The financials group of metrics gives you cost/prices of your deliveries.

  • Total costs/price: the total sum of all deliveries for the period.

  • Costs/price per delivery: the individual cost/price (on average) for each delivery.

  • Logistics costs as % of revenues (retailers only): an approximated calculation of the total costs × revenue, where revenue is calculate as following: Revenue = Avg. Basket Value × Total deliveries.

Routes

The routes group tells about route related (and co-related) metrics.

  • Total routes: absolute number of routes for the period.

  • Orders per route: an average of the number of orders per route.

  • Orders per Km: an average number of deliveries made for every Km in a route.

  • Route duration: on average, how long a route takes to be completed.

  • Route's length — Km: an average of the length of the routes. Where length is the shortest suggested distance for that route (and not the actual route driven by a courier, for example)

  • Re-routed orders: absolute number of orders that where re-routed. Re-route in this case means any order that for any reason had to be added/removed/moved from the last route it was in. For instance, if order A is on route 1 and it is re-routed to a route 2 as the last delivery, that's a re-route. Also, if order A, now in route 2, has to be changed to be the first deliver of route 2, that will be counted as a re-routing too.

  • Vehicles per window*: amount of vehicles used on each delivery window.

  • Unused time per window*: amount of unused time on a delivery window. Where unused is the time left after all orders from a route are delivered.

*When visualising these metrics using a carrier as comparison, the numbers will be given as the total of all retailers and routes of that period.
